I have a 2000 au wagon, when i try to start it, it just goes click-click-click, sounds like a dead battery, checked battery at a battery shop, its in perfect condition.
So anyway i have since put in another new battery running 12.7v while not running, new alternator, new starter motor, new relays for acc and starter, new battery terminals, checked connections under fuse box for main fuse and cleaned and re-done all the earth wires in the body and engine, and still no luck, BUT if i hook up a second battery on the ground with jumper leads it starts first time every time, and when i have it running i can switch it off and start it again straight away without a jump no worries, leave it for a few mins, then its just click-click-click again, its like the car will only start with 2 batteries hooked up, i'm stumped, please help???

might have solved it, even though my battery was reading 12.7 volts the cranking amps had dropped to 410cca, which isnt enough to start the au, so another battery this time with 600cca and its all sweet. thanks.
