I had the cluster in my AU S1 Fairmont Ghia out to change the backlighting and now the LCD illumination isn't working. I haven't touched the lighting for the LCD other than to swap the globes out for known working ones to see if that was the issue. The LCD is still working, just can't read it without the backlight.

The trip comp/Climate control LCD's are still working fine, just the cluster one won't light up.

Does anyone have any ideas? Is there a resistor or something else in the cluster that may have spat the dummy and died?

Are they LEDs ? Are they in the right way ? They have polarity.
Just a thought.. :?

No they're not LEDs. Just the standard flat base, twist in globe. Weird all 3 went out at the same time.

I would pull them back out and get a multimeter and check them for continuity. When putting them back in pull the little metal tabs on the bases out a little so they help make a better contact and ensure the globes are fitting tight. Other than that my next option will be to see that no tracks cracked on the PCB. :|
