Hey everyone, was wondering if anyone has any experience in the transponder key setup for the BA and on. I just bought one and they only gave me one key with it. I have heard that the BA key has a transponder that sends a signal to tell the car that the key is here and to start up when you turn ignition. What I was wondering is, does the key need to be in the ignition barrel to start or can you have it close to the ignition and use another key to start the car. I have a few barells from EF's that have 2 keys for and was curious whether you can use those barells and keys and cable tie the original key under the colum somewhere thus the original is always near the transponder....I thought I might test the waters rather than forking out a small fortune and taking it to ford and getting them to cut me another key.
