I have a BA falcon wagon & the tailgate is shut & won't open. When I press the button it makes an awful noise like a buzzer, a sick one at that. How can I get it open to fix? Thanks

Drop the back seat, crawl in the back and release the latch with a screwdriver.

:?: :?: :?: :?:

sure ya not meanin the sedan by any chance?

i have an AU wagooon .. which is very similar to the later BA/BF & to me it's pretty well the same as the earlier EA-EL wagooons. you will have to break/damage something to get into it ie number plate mount or internal plastic cover. i did the internal plastic cover in the EB as i was having problems opening tailgate ... [turned out to be wasn't turning key 'far enuf' lol ]

Just about to go & unload now. Yes it's a wagon & there is no key entry to the tailgate on this BA so will see.

Don't own one.
You'll see the latch and striker with a torch, push the latch open from the passenger side. Unless the problem is with the latch itself, it will work.

i was able to get mine unlocked .... with 'a' key. had a look at it & tried it . . . [after taking inside cover off] i shut the tailgate & tried it .. yep it does work .. altho i dunno how well you would go with the inner cover on.

I've tested this in my EL, and a BFIII wagon (has no key entry) with all trims in place - very easy to do. Get a torch and a flatblade, practice unlatching the latch with the tailgate open, climb in and close it. You can just see the striker and latch - unlatch it, and open the tailgate - no trims to remove/break at all.
