Yeah, its out of that wagon I have. I'm not sure on width difference, I know there was quite a bit between AU and E series sedan diffs. From memory about 100mm.

Well it is now official. Both Tunnelrams have fallen through. After 51 days, I received my money back thankfully. Go Paypal!

I think I would prefer one of the Edelbrock dual quad intake instead. They don't appear to be an easy thing to find though. They sit a lot lower than the tunnelram, therefore I can hopefully get away with a BA bulge or something similar instead of a scoop.

What an a*** pain dude.
Maybe its time to get onto DA22LE and look at doing a sheet metal mainfold exactly as you want it?

Tell me about it. So far my record with American sellers that come through with what they say and are decent to get along with are on par with those who are not.

I haven't seen a sheet metal one before. You wouldn't have any examples would you?

Pic of the motor in the top right hand side of the page has a sheet metal intake.
http://www.trickandmanswetoracing.com.a ... kages.html
Sheet metal intakes are when your starting to get into pretty serious territory but doable.
Obviously you would go lower then that.
SOme very nice motors on that web page but a little bit beyond my budget at the moment.

Ah I see now. A whole lot of fab work. What's something like that usually worth? I wouldn't say it would be cheap.

Nah they are not unfortunately. I have seen them go for around $1500 but I reckon with somework and checking around you could have one done a lot cheaper.

Ouch, that is up there! Wish I could weld aluminium.

It was only about a year ago that I saw Edelbrock were doing the low dual quad intakes but do you think I can even find a picture of one now? Windsors are so huge in the states, but unfortunately Clevo's get left a bit behind.

Just read here https://www.fordmuscle.com/forums/all-f ... heads.html that a 351 Windsor one will fit with a bit of machining.
Might give you some more options tracking one down?

Ok. Looks like there is a bit of work in getting them to fit too. Plus there is the difference in the front around the thermo.

Tunnelram would look the best, but I have no idea how to cover it legally and be happy with the look. I guess I'll keep my eye out and see what comes up. I'm not spending lots of money either cause that too would go against everything I've done in the past.

thanks!

Time for an update. Progress on car has kind of ceased as other things are taking priority. I have however acquired a few things. Today I picked up a new hard lid off another Fordmods member. Some of you may recognise it. Am very happy with it. I had one previously but this one is in better condition and has a slimmer fit. I got it fitted up this arvo but it need some adjustment and also a key cut for the lock.

I also recently got the tunnelram so that will be installed at a later date. Most likely after I finally get it registered again so I don't have any issues with it poking through the bonnet and passing the blue slip. This will also be running twin Impco 425's so the carby's will not be used.

Yeah it looks great. I did have to change the strut mount position and for some reason it is sitting at a slight angle. So it just needs some fine tuning. I'll give it a amourall and bring it back up.

It sat well on the AU, didn't try to take off on me at all. Even when I got up around 100 and not going to say km's on the freeway.

But the wind ripped the corner stitching on my ute cover. Bugger!

I actually got a little bit of work done toward the ute today. Mainly to free up some space but still, it was good to do something for it.
I had kept a pair of front XR6 doors from a car I had wrecked. I want to blend the EL doors with the XF doors. Just as some other modders have done. This is to gain power windows as the XF winders now hit the EL dash. As well as central locking and EL trims. I also intend to adapt the EF door handles.

So I started out by using a 9 inch grinder to remove the inside skin keeping all the actuators and locks in place. Pretty quick way to hack up some perfectly good doors.

This was then repeated with the second door. I also removed the backing for the door handle and kept the top edge as a reference point and possibly to adapt the black plastic edging. And thats everything I intend to keep form the two doors. The rest now can get thrown out.

I also managed to score some BA Ghia power window switches last week which are back lit to adapt when I get the doors together. Got some helpful advice from another mods member in regards to this as he did the same and has told me the best way to go about it.

I think I'm going to run with the one on the right. Its about half an inch shorter which may help when trying to put a bump on the bonnet. Also it has the sealed base where the other is open.

Cheers Josh!

It may be a little while till I get the doors done. But hopefully not too long. Spare time will hopefully flow more freely over the next few months . But I'll keep the updates coming when they happen. I'm missing driving it a lot. The itch is growing pretty big.
