Get the turbo blades and get the bit behind the polished face powder coated the same or simialir colour to the car would look alright.

Thats not a bad idea! I have a spare one that I will try that on and see what it looks like on the car......

Good to see the rust got sorted, looks like a real good job too.

With the turboblades, dont do it! They belong on Boxcars.

Drop it on EF or EL Mont wheels, will look great. Check out Rick_Deckards EF Mont.

Hehehehehe... just want to see what it looks like with colour coded accents :)

I have a set of EF Fairmont rims that need cleaning, seen another identical car around here that is dumped on Fairy rims and now I want to be different. Wouldn't mind a set of CSA Gladiators but can only get ahold of 3 at the moment and new ones are too expensive. Oh, and can't drop it too much, it is Rachs car. I have EL XR6 springs in at the moment and it sits quite nice.....

what size rims-15,16,17s tyre prices are the factor here.

Bugger all... one side of the repaired area has been bogged and yet to be sanded. The other one has been covered in rust converter only.

Aside from health and Rach's duathlon stuff, I am losing motivation on anything car at the moment - too much over an extended period. Probably (maybe) just have enough to finish this one off then it will be break time...

Cheers
RD

Well, tried to do a bit more to the ole EF.....

Underside bogging not going well as I have no idea what the hell I am doing. Frustrated with that, I decided to have another go at fitting the EF tailshaft to the ED box but still no luck there. I'll wack the EB's one in when it is time for blue slip.

Having been defeated by those two items, I decided to see why the rear windows wouldn't play ball. After a frustrating hour or so, I was unable to revive the LH rear door window motor enough so a replacement is needed. The LH front door motor makes grinding noises as it raises and lowers so will need another one for there too.

I'll be posting a wanted ad for a set but if anyone has some EF/EL/E? power window motors for sale, preferably in NSW, please put your hand up - I need to get this car out of the damn driveway and blue skipped in the next week....

Cheers
RD

Have you thought about aftermarket units only like 125 rrp (well it should be)

Nope, can't be stuffed working everything out and just do not have the time. I have procrastinated about this car for far too long and now it is biting me in the a**.....

I am so bloody close with this I can taste it :) The under bonnet rust is painted albeit in not exactly the same colour. The bonnet is back on. The interior is back together. All the under guard splash guards are back in. The rear passenger window motor (a temporary replacement) is in and the window goes up and down.

Today I took the Turboblades off the EB and fitted 14" bogan wheels, thinking that I would put the TB's on the EF. Stupid me forgot about the wheelnuts bottoming out before the wheels got tight so that went by the boards. So I fit a pair of Mont wheels and remove the standard 15's that were on it and drag them and 2 turboblades down to the tyre go to get them swapped over. So now the EF Mont will have stock 15" rims with EL Futura trims, that is when I find another 12 wheel nuts! If I can't locate them in time I do have an alternative plan but I can tell you I am getting sick off swapping wheels over one at a time

Anyway, my to-do list is getting smaller:

Swap driveshafts between the EF and the EB. The EF currently has an old stuffed EB shaft in it due to the original EF one not fitting into the installed ED box.

Finish the sill plate repairs underneath. I bought a can of Septone Body Deadener (just hope it is the right think 'cause it cost $26.00 for 1l!!!) to do the final cover up so this bit *should* be finished tomorrow.

Find 2 of the push clips for the under guard stone guards, need the big suckers. May actually have a couple somewhere, just have to find them.

Finish up replacing the front LH window motor, 1/2 done tonight before I ran out of light.

Refit the under radiator stone guard.

Find 12 standard wheel nuts.

I am hoping (with everything crossed) that I have tie this all up tomorrow and get the car booked in for either Thursday or Friday for it's blue slip.

Thats it for now....

Good work Bruce.

Now that you are motivated, keep going. Get it done and dusted mate.

I do have some std wheel nuts you can borrow if you need to.

Thanks guys, it is finally getting there.

Motivation is coming from two quarters.... one, I want my car back and two, the EB is slowly falling apart :)

With wheel nuts, thanks again but I am planning on taking all but 2 nuts off each wheel on the EB and putting them onto the EF for blue slip. The EB will just be sitting in the driveway anyway if all goes well.....
