Hi all,

Can anyone confirm that this will work fine? As best I can tell the XG part number is 93DA which means it should definitely be smartlock and hence should work (best I can tell from the ECU list the 1993 EBII will definitely have SL)

Please let me know if you can confirm this as it will save me finding another ECU

Well considering that the XG is essentially a EB motor in a XF ute i couldn't see a reason why it wouldn't work.. smartlock or not the car will still run.

As I suspected. Can anyone positively confirm that XG's got smartlock around the same time as EBII's did?

I shouldn't have any issues with features being that it's from a base model vs a fairmont? I assume climate control/lighting etc all relies on separate BEM??

i am thinking you wouldn't as the ecu only controls the engine and in autos from like ed... it really should be a plug and play really give a go and see. start the car and let it idle and just sit inside lock and unlock the car, turn the climate control on then off and then just the heater and then just the a/c.. i honestly can't see that you would have any dramas. the only thing it will run s**t for the first few minutes so the ecu can figure s**t out then run smooth.
