so the idea is to run an AU ecu in the EF so as to get a capa flash tuner or similar...

these edits are not available for EF/EL as they use the OBDII plug to reflash the ECU...

so if i add the OBDII plug to the EF wiring it would seem the problem is solved..

does the AU ecu communicate with the OBD port via any other modules? is this idea possible

does anyone have an AU wiring diag?

The CAPA "edit" is available for the EF/EL, it is just delivered via the J3 port (using a chip), rather than flashed via the OBDII port.

There is no technical advantage to either method over the other.

u talking about the eliminator switch chip?

i have only heard bad things about them...that was a while ago, dont know if things have improved.. and also id rather go with something that has large support

also again id like to use the OBDII tuner as ill probably upgrade to an AU or BA sometime shortly and that way i can take the tuner with me

"macxr8" fitted a VCT engine (along with the rest of the running gear) to an EL, he may have some answers for you, fitted the smartshield too.

is OBDII available on AUI ? If so, its a very easy swap, dont need to worry about smartsheild!

just change your looms to EF, add CAS and CPS and off you go!
