U guys are god dam gods with everything cars! It's ridiculous! I tried to read the first couple of pages before my head exploded... Currently in the process of reattaching my skull
Anyway, so whilst from little what I read you Guys can pretty much make the car do whatever you want. From giving realtime dynos to speedos turning up on screen. I have 1 simple request, would it be possible for someone to remove my malfunction engine light for coming on because I have put in a high flow cat in my BF! Or is it easy enough for me to buy a cable and do it myself, because compared to what u blokes are doing this is nothing

You'll need a proper tune done, that'll remove the rear cat(s) from the tune, so they won't keep throwing codes.

Really so with a scan tool you cant fool the system into getting a constant accurate reading?

No, you'll just clear the code, to turn off the MIL light, and it'll end up coming back, when the ECU realising, you haven't actually fixed anything. You need a tune to get it working right.

Gentleman,
I am hoping someone might be able to help me. I built a car using most of the parts in a BF XR8. This included all of the electrics. My big issue is the traction control. The vehicle is fittted with tyres that have a circumference that differs between the front and rear of about 2.5%. This is not a problem in a straight line, but going around corners and bends in the road causes the speed differntial to change which causes the traction control to operate. A bit scary at 100klm/hr. To overcome this I just turn the traction control off. With all this "Fun" you are having with the scantool has anyone found a way to change the wheel size and have them different between front and back with the new sizes saved. The Ford computer will change the tyre size, but won't let you save the new figures. Also has enyone found a way to calibrate the fuel sender. Thanks Warrenn

The TC stuff you'll need a tune to sort out, same for the tyre size. You'll need a flash tune to get those sorted. Fuel sender info is stored in the cluster. I think there's a few options available (sedan/wagon/ute).

Nice car to drive, a bit more agile than a falcon, but feels like a falcon because it has the falcon dash and steeerig wheel. All the air bags and sensors have been removed which causes a lot of error signals, but doesn't effect anything else. Once I sort out a few air intake pipework issues I was going to have the car flash tuned. It is good to know the tuner has the software to sort my wheel size out.. The doner car was a BF XR8 sedan. The fuel tank in a falcon is an in the shape of "L", the new fuel tank is rectangle(from a boat). Both are similar capacities. I have an aftermarket fuel sender which works well. The only 2 things I am sure about is it reads full when it is full fuel and when it reads 100klm to go it has abiut 60klm to empty actual. I would like a more linear reponse from the fuel indicator. I don't think the factory reading is all that linear anyway. My top 1/4 of a tank lasts nearly as long as the bottom 3/4.
e.g. first full=>3/4 is about 150 ks. 3/4->empty about 200ks
