just curious of the cost of a professional install of a gas kit to an MPEFI EBII.

i want a proformance rebuild with it too, porting, new cam etc. as the engine is a bit crook.

problem is, the head gasket went a while ago and had it replaced but there's still a problem with the gudgeon pin in cyl 5. don't know how much life it has left in her so i want a rebuild with a bit of balls and a gas kit fitted (dedicated or dual fuel) because of prices of fuel.

if anyone out there has done a hi power gas rebuild can you get back to me about youe experience of if anyone has any idea of cost, viability etc.

Cheers.

Whats your budget?

Looking for ~$3k for a good LPG install.

Add on $3-5K for a good engine rebuild.

i suppose what i wanted to know was if anyone had actually gone out and done a high power gas upgrade. there are bound to be good and bad gas systems but i just want to know if it is really worth it. it's my first car and i'd like to beef it up a bit but if it's going to cost too much and with the way oil prices are going i am thinking of just getting something smaller or something on gas.

i'd love a little toyota sprinter trueno but they are a bit pricey.....

Maybe for a backyard taxi install. Im sure the requirements included 'Performance'. GRA install came to mind.

We just traded our '93 Sportsman on a 2000 Fairlane in Melb & had the dealer fit gas before we took delivery.

Cost was $2200 for an Impco system

That sounds about right, however an Impco 225 isnt really suited to 'performance' as per the original question.
