G'day guys. I'm just curious about this because I read so much here about manual coversions to get away from that 'hanging in first gear' problem.

Short of the manual conversion, are there any options available that will speed up that shift to second?

Thanks guys,

-K

For the speed of shift, I recommened a shift kit, I have one that my cousin made for $10 and works the same as my mates $100 brought one!

But if you want it to shift earlier (accellerate faster) put in a higher diff ratio.

(I wasn't quite sure what you we after when you said hanging in 1st.)

i assume he means what can you do to overcome the s**t first gear ratio.

Well you cant change the gearbox ratio's, but you can fit a short diff ratio like mentioned, and fit a strong cam, with a high stall.

All these should get the car moving quickly with plenty power at the right revs
