I have fitted an EA ECU into my ED. Does this remove the speed limiter????
Yes it does run...haven't driven it yet.

is it a 5 speed ecu??
if so yes it wont have a speed limiter..
and the ea ecu will run the ed fine as really there is no real difference in fuel or timing.

and even if its an auto ecu that your using in a manual you can cut the vss wire and the speed limiter will be gone..

Its a 5sp ECU. I took it for a drive, and it was, well, ordinary. I have put the ED auto ECU back in, and it is sharper, crisper acceleration......what gives????

That is just a chip to tune the standard ECU

They do "piggy backs" and "stand alone" units too. They are made in Sydney.
Unfortunately they are closed for Xmas.
