Hey ive finised coverting my ed into manual and got an manual ecu out of an ea which did have a mpfi motor in it. im just wondering will my car run like crap with it because ive heard that tickford ECU are slightly tweaked so just wanting to know.

hi
you can use a ea mpfi ecu but the smartlock function will not work. as ea didnt have smartlock. but it will still run the car it means the factory imobilizer wont work any more.. the ea mpfi ecu is much the same as eb and ed other than smartlock.. the ed xr6 ecu is slightly different (alittle more advance in timing map)? but you probably wont notice the difference.. you should be able to use the ed auto ecu without 2 many dramas.. it might idle a little bit higher. |

if you are chasing a manual ED XR6 ECU i have one for sale, but yes, the EA ECU will run it, just not very well
