Can I fit a manual EL XR8 ECU to my now manual EF V8 fairmont. most of the wiring looks the same in the manual except for the thermos (im only concerned with what runs off the EEC not other things like external lighting) Are the EEC pinouts the same for both??

Cheers

EL ECU's cannot be swapped with EF ECU's due to the coil/dizzy differences! :)

I'm going to assume you didn't see the "V8" bit uglybob.. heh

The ECU will be fine for reference, the only difference between EF and EL is the thermo fan configuration. Since there were various diff ratio's with the E-series, the ECU will shifting gears based on it's pre-programmed diff ratio.

The EL manual ECU works a treat in my EF, and hasnt yet shown any signs of discontent. Funnily enough, it actually feels like its smoother off the clutch now than before with the auto ECU and the best bit............. NO SPEED LIMITER!!!! So Eastern Creek Track Racing here I come!!!
