I have just installed a immobilizer in to me 92 NC Fairlane. And i was wondering if i cut the power from the ecu relay will it cause any problems with my ecu. I am looking at cutting the red wire which is pin 5

Cheers Rick

the ecu has more than one power feed.
You would be better off intercepting the fuel pump trigger, or PIP wire, or injector power etc etc. Plenty of ways you can do it

I went with the ecu relay wire. Which is pin 5 on the ecu which cuts off power to everything.

Thanks for your help

just make sure you're not constantly resetting the ECU as it will default all of the fuel trims and start to run like a bag of poo!

From what i can see in the factory ford manual. Pin 5 is only ign power wire which also connects to pin 37 & pin 57 which are ign power wires as well. But if i still have the battery back up wire still connected. Will the computer reset all the time ?
