G'Day, a mate of mine has picked up an ED XR6 motor to chuck in his ED, but wanted to use the 300kpa fuel pressure reg. However he still has the standard computer. During the next year or so he's gonna go some kind of forced induction (prob s/c), so was wondering if havin a unichip would be worthwhile, so he won't need the XR6 ecu and have to buy one later anyway for the charger. Anyone have an idea of the cost and if this is a good way to go or not? Cheers

The unichip will do the job, but if he wants some serious, reliable power, a full aftermarket ECU would be the ultimate way to go. Somthing like an EMS or a Wolf would be awesome!

Unichips are good. They can get you more power and let you tune up fuel and igntion settings but as with many piggy backs, they are limited.

But it should go with a charger and a good aftermarket ECU. Let us know how he goes!
