hi all, i've done a seach about ex police ecu's ..

Or even the South Asia import ones???


can anyone please let me know what difference it will make??? and also, does anyone have one that want to sell!!!! LOL

lol, i wouldnt buy one from overseas, likely to just send you anything because you cant do anything about it, not to mention that the writing on it will be in asian :P and the cars might be different slightly (for their pollution laws, timings, exhaust notes etc)

What do you mean by NL?

the NL is designed to be a cruiser not a drag car. dont worry about getting another ecu just concentrate on headers and an aftermarket exhaust

I have both ECU's at home for sale.

Cop one will hold gears longer than a standard ECU, and wont drop into 4th under 80km/h. Makes it a but more snappy around town. South African ecu's are esentially stock ECU's, but with a tad more power as the emissions controls aren't as tight.

Only downfall is both ECU's will cost you your speed sensitive steering. Only Fairmont and up ECU's have that enabled.

Arm, I HATE the speed sensitive steering .... im interested in one ..

you can just disable it by unplugging the sensor

i havent got anything done atm*. but im planning to put a mild/medium cam in her,shave head, new exhaust sys + extractors.

just wanted some advice, on which would be better

its its modified you will want an XR6 ecu (or xr8 if its a 5L),

pretty much hey, altho with a standard tailshaft i wouldnt be exceding 180 anyway, seen too many come apart and cause major major damage
