Yep the back ring is a big screw on cap, use the hammer/screwdriver to help slowly unscrew it. Once that is unscrewed, the hanger assembly will just pul out, that has the fuel level sender and fuel pump in it.

alrite, the lock is getting undone now, hoses pulled out, and so have the electrical connectors. going to go buy the fuel pump. but one question, when u put the new fuel pump in, is it hard to put the lock back on? or do u just tighten it as much as u can with ur hands?

putting it back on is the same as undoing it, you will have to do a few rotations using the hammer/screwdriver but then you should be able to do the rest with your hands.

the pump and the sender and all the components that were in the petrol tank are really dry now. do i have to clean it with something (like petrol) before putting it back into the tank? or just chuck it back in

Maybe just give them a quick brush over just in case there are any loose bits, but I wouldn't bother that much.

yeah i loosened it up with a spanner but it was difficult, once its lose hit the black ring lock with a screw driver and mallet to move it in anti-clockwise, and it should come off, took me a while to get it out. damn fuel pump cost me 161 bux

To get the hose clamp off (i do not know why it is needed and dont use it personally), just get a screwdriver or 2 under it and lever it up and off.

just chuck it in because the petrol lubricates the pump.
