How long before you have to get the install checked over so that it remains legal?

Thanks

the gas tank needs to be inspected every 10years from the date of installation. there will be a plate on the gas tank stipulating when it was installed

I was told by tech guys at vic-roads that an LPG system must have an inspection every year which checks for basic things. An example of what they check is that you have an LPG sticker on your rear number plate.

Then every 10 years the tank must be removed and checked internally for rust and other damage before being restamped as safe for the next 10 years. This is exactly the same way BBQ gas bottles are checked and restamped every 10 years. Unfortunately this inspection is costly :(

Cheers.

My yearly inspection only costs around 10-20 on top of the normal inspection (NSW)

I think i was quoted in the area of 80 - 120 for a test on the tank in my panel van... It was about 12mths ago now.

I went to the wreckers and picked up a good take with another 6 yrs left on it, for $80. :D

Cheers

with the checking every year, i believe it is recommended but not required.
but you gonna need to get it tuned and serviced about every year so not really a hassle or too much extra cost anyway.

LP Gas 1 in Lillydale quoted me $65 for a compliance check.

They were also the people who finally fixed my car... $2200 at three different mechanics to get an LPG system tuned.

I can't reccomend LP Gas 1 highly enough. Top blokes.
