My idle when cold 600rpm (neutral) and 500rpm (Drive), when the engine is running at normal operating temp, my idle is 1100rpm (Neutral) and 800rpm (Drive)

I must be missing something because I can not notice any power loss on gas and can not understand why people have a problem with gas.It is the best thing going.

im not sure exactly what people mean by you need straight gas and not dual for performance. What is the technical logic behind this? Apart from say increasing compression. I find running gas and premium works well (similar octane).. The biggest problem with gas is the delivery system though if you ask me. mixers that strangle your intake with a long journey to the combustion chamber. Multipoint manifold injected systems will be more common soon though.

As for people who dont like the gas tank.. Its possible to get tanks which sit nicely in your spare tyre bay. (just make sure you carry a few cans of that instant reflate crap :)

This is something im trying to figure out, Ive heard you can get them custom made (legal I dunno).
The new LPG BA has it mounted in place of petrol but I highly doubt it could be retro fitted easily.

As far back as the XF in 1985 installers were removing the petrol tank and fitting underfloor LPG tanks.Very easy installl, just means no petrol, some people like it some don't.Personally I prefer duel fuel but each to there own.

I looked in to this back when my fuel system died and I converted to LPG. If you want your fuel tank removed and replaced with a gas tank you can do it, but it will need to get engineering approval.

Any idea on the cost?

btw EFFALCONMAN your sig says 138rwhp is that hp or kw? As wouldnt an EF have around 150rwhp (100rwkw) stock? unless of course youve lost that much from the lpg conversion :(

Stock EF puts out around 120rwhp. Even though I have performed a few choice mods to my car the engine is tired, and my auto box is even tireder. (Couldn't even get it to hold 2nd gear on the dyno, kept wanting to shift up into 3rd and 4th). My mechanics and myself were expecting a minimum of 150rwhp which is achievable if I fix my gear box (or replace it with a manual which would work out cheaper).

When I converted to LPG I chose an Impco system due to minimal loss of power, and economy. Plus a longer warranty on parts.
