I have an au2 i6 and i was just wondering about my fuel consumption. If i use a full tank to drive around town i struggle to get 500k's to a tank. If i do alot of highway drivin i get 650k's to 750k's to a tank.

Is this normal or is somethin amiss.

Any advice would greatly be appreciated.

Cheers

Yeah sounds about right. In my AU I get around 500kms city and anywhere from 650-850kms in the country (actually got from adelaide to melbourne, about 850kms on a single tank).

I think it's a 65L tank or is it 75L's. But it's good to hear that my car is fine.

Thanks

I manage to get about 550km out of about 80L of LPG ... seeing a consumption is a little different for GAS .... but I think that's pretty decent for my style of driving doing deliveries around Sydney.

Sounds about spot on compared to what I get out of mine.

Why what do you get out of yours nanger? Also what is the best fuel for an au2, by this i mean for consumption and power wise. I use shell optimax at the moment but is there something better? I have used bp ultimate and found it made my car run like a piece of s**t. Any ideas guys.

Mine uses about 12.5 liters/100km around town, maybe a bit less in summer, and about 9.5 to 10 on the highway. Thrash it or very short trips and it easily goes up to 18 around town. Still this is more than my old EF used to use, possibly cos its a wagon.

Also I can't notice much difference at all using Optimax.

I just checked mine again as Mrs Nanger has been driving it for the last 800km and it has 13.5 l/100km on the trip computer. She always uses more fuel than me. (Cos I'm a tight a**) If I see a red light ahead I take my foot off the go pedal. Not her, she keeps it right down to the last second then slams on the brakes.......women drivers.....

Also bear in mind AUs have sequential injection, unlike EL's - ever notice the VT's flog us in the economy game (yes, I know they're a tad lighter too).

I haven't done a full tank economy drive in nearly ever!...but I get around 10L/100 kms most of the time - ie ~$40 ULP would get me 400 kms (I do about 250 - 300 kms a week with 2/3 of that mainly freeway driving).

ATM it's $hithouse because I need a Haltech / Wolf3d to move forward with tuning / results ! I've been burning (and in many cases spitting out!) loads of BP Ultimate through the zorst...oh the humanity
