Hey datamine. Where did you get this chip burning stuff and how much was it?

I have a manual EL and if I get one I will send you the bin's. I also have a bit of knoweledge about embedded systems (Mechatronics Degree and Datalogger V2.0.). This would be something interesting I would like to try next. Just to give me an idea how big is the EEC bin?

Do you know what processor the EECV runs? Then you could put it through a HEX -> ASM converter and have an idea what parts are code and what parts are data.

The gear was purchased from http://www.moates.net. I think an EECV bin dump is ~220Kb. EECIV is smaller...

Early EECIV are 32k and 56k a bit later.
Early 2bank EECV(ie EF-EL) are 112k.
Late 4bank EECV(ie AU) are 224k.

Hey I found this on the website about the EECEDTR software

Quote:
The following pricing has been proposed for the program content:
EEC Editor program: $Free
EEC-IV Definition Files: $Free
EEC-V Definition Files: $50 (each application)
Custom definition file: $150 (if possible, could take 1-2 weeks for creation, based on your binary files and boxcode info if def doesn't already exist)
Please keep in mind that no one is trying to get rich here, just trying to keep it interesting and worth the time it takes. This is as close to freeware as can be.

Could we just get this guy to develop a custom definition file for $150, this would cover the EL??

Not sure, haven't asked him yet. $US150 is a bargain though.

Curious to know how many (and which) parametres they would be able to find for the money.

Pete, how much is your time worth? I'd rather give you the work if your not already flatout. I hear you had most of one of the AUII XR8 catch codes "defined" (?)

You say you have an EL ECU, what catch code is it. I probaly could. I've got 2 spare chips at the moment. Need to figure out how much each one costs me, if you're interested I can give you a price.

You looking to get EEC-IV dumps data_mine?
I've got an ED XR6 ECU that won't be seeing use for awhile if you're interested...

Awesome stuff, modifying shiftpoints is nice.

Yeah I'll take more dumps, getting my hands on a manual dump will be good so I can compare.

But yeah, so far speed and rev limiters can be adjusted - lol I spent a day with a 120KM/H limiter, and a short drive with a 4000RPM limit during my testing. Damn the car sounds mean getting it over 6000RPM, can't wait to see the power curve. May have to sneak out of work tomorrow to the dyno.

I think I know where to look for auto shift points, will require testing.

/me tents fingers in evil way

Hey datamine, I know you are getting a lot of requests at the moment but do you think you are able to alter EL XR6 auto shift patterns IE kickdown and upshift ? Yes/No ?
