okay,

im looking to buy an MSII (mostly because its about all i can afford) ive done a bit of a search, and read the sticky on this forum, but i wanted some more answers. any help would be greatly appreciated

firstly, are ALL the parts available from jaycar (i thought i read that some people were having trouble finding certain parts and how much does it all come to with all these

will it run NOS and/or a supercharger?

and finaly does anyone have one working and could they tell me if it is worth it,and how hard to put together?

thank you

First off let me start by saying the MSII is pretty damn cool. I still haven't had my car running on it but from what i've seen (had it reading all my sensors and everything and reacting as per normal) its pretty good. NFGhia has had good results running his v8 on it, and hopefully this weekend i'll be able to get my 6 running on it...

so anyway...

I'm unsure of if the parts are available. apparently some of them are hard to get locally so i made the choice of getting a complete kit from www.glensgarage.com . Was a really well pu together kit and i can't reccomend it enough. When i got mine it was about $360 AU posted.

At the moment the current version of the MSII software wont control NOS or boost control, traction control or anything like that. These features are available in the MSnSE code on the MSI chip but one must keep in mind that the MSII is the way forward so its worth thinking about that when you decide what to order.

It will handle a supercharger or turbo (thats the plan with my EBII fairmont, turbo)... as the MAP sensor will handle upto 20psi of boost (dont quote me on that) and then you just set up your load points according to how much boost your gonna push and personal preference.

the MSII will handle both of ford ignition systems... coilpacks in the EF's/NF's (gotta buy EDIS6 module from the US) and the TFI on the rest of em.

So yeah, go for it, take the plunge!!!

so just to break it down a bit.

the MSII will run a turbo, but at this stage not NOS?
but does that mean there will be an 'upgrade' available soon to run NOS?

Ive bought about 98% of the parts from Jaycar, and the rest were gathered from Farnell, and some place in Smithfield.. forgot the name. So yeah, its possible, but things like the high current IGBT circuit, ie the actual coil driver (VB921) will need to be ordered from mouser, or digikey in america.

Cheers
