Hey, ive just had a read of the smartlock doc, and i realised that my BEM should be grey, coz my car is an ex-taxi... not black

Also, could it be my crank position sensor??!!?

If it's the crank position sensor, a quick check of the EEC-V diagnostic codes should tell you...

There's a doco on how to do that as well. God bless our beloved fordmods :)

if a black BEM is slotted in it won't make much of a difference for testing purposes anyways!

That doco is even worse than the smartlock one... :?
I need a degree in...something...to figure it all out!!!

yeah EF GLI's had grey but black seems also to be common enough .. dunno what the difference is..
