HI there every body, Can any one tell how to get rid of rev limiter on stock ECU EBII . This is for a speed way car and our rules dont allow the use of after market comps .Any help would be greatly appresiated . Currently getting a frustrating 5300 revs wanting 6000 or more

Is this a 6 or 8? - You might be able to get Pete (xr9ute) to fix the problem using twEECer or something similar - would remove the limit.

Of course, your not allowed to do that are you...

Good question.

One answer is to use LPG - the limiter is Fuel based, not ignition so LPG will rev higher

a guy on here is selling an ED XR6 ECU, they don't have a speed limiter..

Oh its 4litr 6 not allowed to use LPG . And its REV LIMITER not speed limiter cheers

Thats hard to remove. the twEECer might let you up the limit. Thats the only way out at this point.

its a device that plugs into the J3 port (not sure its J3...) on the ECU. Allows ECU paramaters to be rewritten. In your case, would allow you to lift the rev limit.

maybe a resistor inline could trick the ECU into thinking less revs are being used...

i thought you wernt aloud aftermarket ecu/plugins etc?

The resistor trick above sounds like a good idea

Have to check rule book , There could be a gray area in there somewhere eg dosn,t say i caint remove rev limiter and if thats all i do cant see a prob.Will look into the resistor idea and see how that goes .
