Orange wire, injector harness/starter circuit, whassitfor?

Theres an orange wire at the back of the manifold on my v8 ef, auto. It appears to have had a ring terminal on it before, so im guessing its earth, but can anyone confirm it for me? It coms out at the same place as the starter motor solenoid wire i believe
