i need to install gas on my car. i bought a pranged up EA in order to get a gas system for my car but i am faced with hardship ahead. i wnt everythign to be leagle of course so that means i need my compliance plate. the other day i went off to find a few prices and advice from gas mechanics. i went to two and they were rude and useless. if any one knows a decent gas fitter its got to be you guys, any one know any decenct gas mechanics in perth? also i have a tank full of lpg, should i bother to get it pressure tested or should i just buy a second hand tank? cheers mates i'm off to bed now

yer gas power in north bridge are ok

it really depends on you as well :) not saying u were rude

ok since u have an ea on gas it would pay to haev the tank tested as they only have a 10yr stamping, it will be ilieagal to put this in the car if the tank date has expired

it had expired, nah i was'nt rude to either of these guys, i always try my best to be polite. cool thanks for the advice. any ideas on cost? i already had the gas converter wired in along with the piggy back computer. really all i need now is a (legal tank) fitted, the gas lines fitted and to plumb in the gas converter which should be easy enough i just ha'nt bothered

ahh cool

yer it is easy to do
from what scott told me u can LEGALLY mount the tank and run the gas line u are NOT allowed to conect the wiring or the gas lines to the convertor/tank and filler etc

lol i got that the wrong way around did'nt i!!! i figured anything gas should'nt be touched ie gas lines mounting tank... and anything electrical would be okay, the system totally sucks i'm considering doing the whole lot myself and taking the whole car over the pits, ok no 500 dollar rebate but i won't have to spend hardly anything. the systems totally f**k, hard working poor uni students like myself are at the mercy of these over priced d**k-heads. Any way, had my rant there i'm sure they arn't all bad but the evidence seems to point that way, i'm going to give that guy in northbridge a call today, but being in armadale its a fair trek, but if the price and service is right its worth the trek

yer price for a full new conversion was around 2.5k into an au

so 2k after rebate

imho unless u know gas stuff dont install it
stay away from it, as the dudes who put it all in my not even want to work on the car let alone aprove it.

GIve STEENS in balcatta a call.

all my dads cars have been converted by them.
Not only are they really helpful over the phone, they do really good work on cars.

Give him a call and tell him about ur problem and he will be honest straight up with yoiu.

Good luck.
