Just wondering if people find one better than the other from their experiences. I am using V-Power at the moment only cause I got heaps of those shop-a-dockets for them.

I'd like to find out more about this also. I am using and always have used V-power as shell is closer to my place. Is there really any difference between the two?

ive been told by an engine builder, who dynod a particular engine using all the different typs of fuels around and he said the best to use was the 95 octane from mobil. im sure the engine was a gen 3 he also told my mate who he built a touigh chev for to use the fuel

i cant presonally back up his claims but he is a well respected engine and head builder in melbourne.

Check the fuel section of this page out. Tells you all about octane ratings and what they do.

Vortex98 is the only fuel my GT-P gets.

Ultimate is the only fuel above 95RON in Tassie
I think it's top stuff, and even make the point of buying it in my Caltex uniform lol

i've done a few threads a while ago.

long and short, i we found in our racing karts that the old optimax was filled to the brim with s**t and filth.

vortex wasn't too bad but didnt' give the most power and ultimate was the best we could get.

but its all fuel. 98 will give a tad more pwr and better economy, but you'll pay for it

personally after months of testing the three top rating premo fuels( v-power 98, vortex 98 and bp ultimate )

all test i did where over 3 full tanks then 3 full tanks of crap 91 octane fuel

i have found the best fuel of the three to be the v-power 98 my reason been that with the caltex vortex i had a slight improvent on fuel consumption down from 37+l /100 to 28l/100 with the ultimate i had a difference from 37+l/100 down to round the 25l/100 and then the v -power been the most economical comin down from a 37=l/100 to as my cars sits now a 22.7l/100 this may only be my car but testing it on my dads el gli runnin 17.6l/100 and mums hyundia sonata at about 15l/100 so will advise on improvements as they are both on thier second tank now

i am a big one and my cars is f**k runnin wise due to sensors ect , mums car wasnt looked after properly before we bought it ( wish we had know that first) and das only does short trips i.e bout a 2k drive to and from the shops where he catchs the bus so it doesnt even really warm up enuff to get good fuel economy

I was just curious whether anybody felt that their Idle benefitted at all from the 98 Ron fuels? ie smoothed it out at all?

i don't find any difference between the 2 98RON petrol. Though between 91RON and 98RON, I have had better economy. about an extra 50km to 100km in difference, depending on where i drive majority of the time.
