Despite my greatest efforts i cannot reset the base idle, and all the other wonderful things that you have to reteach the computer. Originally i disconnected the battery to try and reset the head unit cause its stuffed and now the car stalls when going round corners and under hard braking. i considered various sensors to be the culprit however the car ran perfectly before i disconnected the battery. I tried to 'reteach' it following the guide i found in the forums and its fine now until i turn the steering wheel whilst its in drive. the revs drop dramatically before stuttering to return to normal(currently idling slightly lower than normal). Car still stalls whilst going round corners.
If ANYONE has a clue as to what is wrong with my car please post a reply. Id take it to my mechanic but i dont want to spend money unnecessarily.
PS: Ive followed the procedure 5 times and it still hasnt gone back to normal.

The same thing the other day has happened to me with my manual AUIII, after i disconected the battery to do some wiring. The revs seem to search at low revs and sometimes stalls, which can be a pain at lights and going around slow corners etc.

So if anyone knows the correct procedure on how to relearn/reset the base idle, you will be helping out both of us.

So is it idling okay when you're NOT turning the wheel littlebrat? Cause if it is, it could be powersteering maybe, check the fluid... otherwise I'm not sure.

You might have to start it all over again and dis-connect the Battery for at least 2hrs then try the steps outlined below. If that doesn't work yeah might need to take it to a Mechanic?
