I think I will have to warn him. Ok, he's a Commodore driver ...but blood is thicker than unleaded!

i.e. He is my bro', and he's helped me with my ride in the past!

The resistor mod doesn't effect fuel but it does give you around 4 degrees of timing advance (on falcons anyway) The problem is that it can cause problems and even engine damage if your engine starts to overheat. Far easier and safer just to bump the dizzy forward 4 degrees or so.

Cheers ED,

I know this will be a stupid question, ...but WHAT is the dizzy & how do you change it?

Distributor, and seeing you have an EF you don't actually have one so it doesn't apply to you. The EF I6's have a knock sensor so the EEC will automatically adjusts its timing to get the best result for the conditions (just running premium unleaded petrol should see some timing increases).

Thanks ED,

Might try the PULP option, leave my bro' with his chip & dizzy.

Have warned him about the chip, tho' he says it's worth a try...

So what is the best thing to do for a AUXR8 5.0 fitted to an AC Cobra with a brand spanking 220kw ecu that has no memory yet. It's been started but not driven yet. I'd assume no reset needed but does it still need learning?
