Is there any advantage to fitting Tickford/XR6 ECUs over the standard ECU?

Rev limit is the same.

Different fuel and ignition maps, would benefit more if you added teh 300KPA XR6 fuel reg too.

I've got a Tickford ECU in my EF.

So you say the XR6 fuel pressure regulator will work better, ...how so?

Surely it won't make any difference at all if you use stock EF injectors?

Would it be beneficial to change to XR6 injectors too?

Let me know, ...as I have an opportunity to change my regulator AND injectors to XR6!

The injectors are the same, but the xr6 runs more pressure in the rails, and teh xr ecu's are tuned for it.

XR6 Injectors = 19lb at 275kpa
Stock Injectors = 19lb at 275kpa :P
In otherwords, the only difference is the XR6s run a 300kpa fuel reg.. injectors are identical..

Ok dokey, cheers guys.

Incidentally, I've been having rough starts on hot days when engine is warm & AC has been on.

Turn off engine, when I come back 10-20 mins later and go to start it, it struggles to turn over (starter motor cranks OK, but engine struggles), and when it does it's rough for a few seconds but then settles down fine.

Starts at night & cooler days no probs!

Someone suggested it could be fuel bubbling in my rail after shut-off that causes the rough starts, ...could a 300kPa regulator be worth a try?

Just a niggling problem I've had for a while...
