Just got a Unichip tuned on my Dev3HL cammed OHC six.

Thanks waggin : )

Idle is now 100% which is so important for an auto and much more power and torque in the mid range and a nice boost in peak power too. Overall it feels smoother to drive at any throttle position and 1/4 throttle feels like what half throttle used to be. lets hope it will be more economical too.

The highlights are:

15rwkw or 19% gain 80-95rwkw at 100k or 3000rpm!

Thats what you call torquey now.

15rwkw or 7% gain 118-127rwkw at 140k or 4200rpm!

8rwkw or 3% gain 118-127rwkw at 170k or 5100rpm peak power.

Before and after results on the dyno are here in my gallery.

Might wanna check your link mate but i managed to find my way there.

Looks like a significant improvement 'under the curve'. Did you end up fitting this yourself?

400m will be interesting

Nice work Jon! Maybe upload the photos here too (You can now upload images directly into posts!)

While theres often little to gain at peak power, people often forget how much is to be unleashed thoughout the rev range. Drivability increases by a great amount. Glad youre happy with it.

How much did it end up costing for install/tuning? I think you would've got out of it all for a pretty reasonable price in the end.

I got Spiro at Autotech in Granville to do it in the end as I couldn't reliably figure out the Unichip loom colour codes and APS didn't want to provide the info.

Anway money well spent for a change.

The fit and tune cost $500 so its as much almost as a chiptorqe which I could fit myself but of course live on dyno tuned to the car and its mods.

So you got it all done for less than the price of a Unichip Supply Only :) Good work!!

patience was rewarded waiting for a second hand unichip to come up.

I took the car out last night and it likes the cold night air all right!

: ) very happy with it now. really fixed up a lot of low end 2000-3000rpm throttle response issues.

It's not night and day difference or as big a difference as the cam felt but it has solid power all through the rev range now so i have lost the kick in feel of the cam so it feels smoother not all that much faster

Ok so you saw all the dyno charts with the before and after but does it really make a difference on the street.

Well I just did some testing with the Gtech 0-100k 3 runs with the unichip disconnected and three with it connected.

0-60 in seconds

Stock ECU Unichip
Run1 7.62 7.29

Run2 7.53 7.10

Run3 7.37 6.98

Average 7.50 7.12

So it does work 5% improvement in 0-100Kmh is pretty good.

You have to consider with my Auto doing a 0-100mh I only get to rev out first and am half way through second gear by 100k as it revs to 123k in second. I was pleased it does work. Next WSID and the 400m!
