My EBII 'was' running on petrol after i fitted a BBM and while it idling i had to disconnect and relocate a 'pink' wire (had to cut and fit a male/female conecction for BBM) and it just stopped....Following my manual i extracted some codes using a test light and got code 87-Fuel pump circuit failure....Cleared the codes and the pump is priming before i but stilll no go.....Anyone know what the pink wire does....I've stripped the protection off and it goes down into the TFI module??? I'm also trying to find it in the manual schematics but having trouble...

Pink is the injector power feed. Check your conections.

I suspect the conection is no good or you have blown a fuse. Best get a meter or lamp and wire it to the pink wire and make sure you have voltage at that point when the ignition is on.

Isn't there a pink tacho wire that goes to the tfi on the EB's?

I remember one on mine that had a single plug and it would shut down if disconnected. The plug was near the TB and TFI too. I wouldn't put 12v to this yet until you're sure.

Reading his original comment you may be right. I might be out of my depth here as its not an EF.

This is correct and may have put some sort of 'hard' code in cos it won't go again.....even after discoing the battery? And can't find a plain 'pink' wire in the schematic..... only close ones are pnk/blu??? Will be further diagnosing over wkend..!

i used to have this elusive pink wire in my ea cfi & when i converted engines to mpfi i had to change the entire loom back up into the dashboard because the other ea (same year with almost identical k's) didn't have the pink wire & couldn't get it to go. i've heard of a few people having this problem.
as for working before & not now it could be a dodgey connector ? tryed cutting it out & soldering ? (without the keys in the ignition preferably)
