Quick update.I went down to coventry auto to pick one up and in their book there was two types.
One didnt have a description
The other one had fairlane/fairmont/XR
Is that one the higher pressure one?
I didnt realize monts and lanes had different fuel pressure regulators to the glis and futuras
Can someone clarify?

EF XR6 and fairmont ghia's have a 300kpa reg

stock is 270

you will make more power/better economy running a 270kpa one on an XR6 unless you have major mods

All the e-series with tickford engines got the 300kpa. The standard engines got 250-275 depending on model.

Bosch still make them and sell them new. Couldn't find a listing on the computer at Repco but I found a Bosch Fuel Injection catalogue that had it in there, I think I posted the part number up in a thread around Christams time just been. Anyways I had to order it in direct from Bosch, ended up costing me the same price as people were trying to sell them second hand on here!

better economy sure, but shouldn't require major mods, the Tickford engines didn't have much over the stock (more agresive ECU tune, lumpier camshaft and some minor headwork), and somebody at Ford/Tickford decided it was required. Prolly a good idea to run a Tickford ECU though so the tune is set for the higher fuel pressure.

Ive just purchased an EF XR6 ECU and wanted to put in the XR regulator.
I picked one up from coventrys for $80.Its from bosch too.
I have a more agressive cam, pacemaker headers and zorst.Ill put it on the dyno again after i put in the ECU and regulator to see if there are any gains, will post again in a month or so with an update.

try with the xrcomputer and stock regulator. this should lean the A/F ratio's out to be more power friendly without actually running lean or unsafe. many memebers have had success doing this

Last time i had the car on the dyno(a month ago) my A/F mix was leaning out in the top half of the rev range bout 3500rpm onwards. So ill see how it goes.

sounds like time for an injector clean, running on optimax doesnt mean you dont have to clean your injectors
