If its an auto, you'll prob have issues with gear changes. GLI ECU will be programmed for a 3.08 ratio... XR6 ECU programmed for a 3.45 ratio.

You can't 'flash' E-series ECUs. What will be required is a J3 add on chip. No need to give him your ECU at all. The J3 chips can be installed without taking the ECU out of the car.

Maybe, but that's NOT what Ford have done.
Also, remember not everyone wants to drive to red line each gear shift.
