can anyone tell me how to recognise a el xr6 ecu. thanks

Look at the bar code on the ECU and ask your nearest Ford dealer for confirmation of which model it is from.

6TBC is an XR6 EL ECU, got into a kinda argument with a guy on ebay trying to sell an EL XR6 ecu that was a Tickford LPG ECU, he was not happy

IIRC, (dodgy memiry at work)

the EF has 2 plugs where as the EL has 3 looms. Withe nough effort it would be possible to interchange them I guess.

EF's have coil pack, EL's have dizzy. Therefore, ECU's are not interchangeable between EF and EL.
