i believe a CMS Stage 3 head and cam will get you that power figure, or pretty close to it

150kw is pretty achievable on an engine thats in good shape, not that i have that kinda power in my Fairmont YET

If your car is manual, you're off to a flying start :D, with the auto you might have to work a little bit more..

Exhaust and headers, intake mods, a good cam and a bit of headwork (and a chip if you need it to match the cam) etc should get you around 150kw at the wheels, maybe a bit more..

A guy i know, who used to have an EF XR6, got about 145kw at the treads, with 2.5" exhaust and headers, K&N Panel, Jim Mock DEV3HL cam, no headwork and it was auto, so it wouldnt be too hard to get that figure if you have the money to spend

150rwkw is an easy figure with the right mods working together.

a good exhaust, cold air, decent cam (all set up right), and a few other bits and bobs and your there.

ive seen FULL Dev 5 kits not hit 150, and ive seen a mostly stock ef with no headwork or chip pull 154rwkw (it was an auto too) on the same dyno same day, seems to be in the fine tuning, and a bit of luck :P.

i have one of those chiptorque chips thats preprogrammed for 10 kw gain with an xr6 ecu. will the chip handle a wade 1636 cam? i dont see why it wouldnt as no computer mods are needed for a cam upgrade but just a precaution.

Id say it would work fine, the 1636 is suited to the standard ecu anyway. Probably wouldnt affect anything but if it does, just use the XR6 ecu by itself and it would be okay

healthy motor, good compression with machined head and AU headgasket
mid to top end cam with XR valve springs
manual box
J3 chip & tune
usual exhaust & intake mods

Will make over 150rwkw easy

very do-able! 150+ with no comp and only having extractors as a external mod can happen!

Bahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhaahhahahahahhahahahaha.ha.

157kw at the fly.
probably 170kw at the fly with extractors and exhaust.
You think that will pull 150+ at the wheels??

My mates old wagon did 154 i think from memory, and that was a Manual with a crow cam in it not sure which one, pacie extractors, full exhaust done and xr valve springs. also had a LSD man that thing was fun  oh it was also running an AUTO ecu and only had a slight tune so yes its quite do-able

i myself are hoping to get around about 160-170 rwkw in my futura once I've done everything.

no way... extractors alone are not going to get you an extra 45 rwkw's.. lol.. working on a stock figure of somewhere around 105 rwkw..

to get 150rwkw..
t5 her.. -is easiest..
decent sized cam
extractors..
cat back exhaust..
cold air intake..
3 inch mandrel bend intake..
a healthy bottom end and good compression..

not too hard to do, about 3.5k will get you there

my EL XR6 ran 152-162 RWKW, with a good torque curve...

setup was:
CMS stage 2 head (only mild work)
CMS stage 3 cam with vernier gear
68mm throttle body
3" intake pipe, filter, CAI
extractors, cat, 2.5" exhaust
au injectors

that was on standard ecu and std bottom end, a chip isnt really needed to hit that figure, and if you did id get a custom tune, dont get anything off the shelf... been there done that.

Spent less then $2000 with the mods listed in my sig to get 144rwkw...all mods done in my driveway, so labour wasn't a problem. That's without the J3 chip and tune...now running J3 with Manual XR6 mapping.

I think I can hit the 150rwkw easily after a tune and fixing that flat spotting.

phong =P~

im talking all work done by mechanics and no second hand parts, if your handy and have all the tools and are on the lookout for second hand exhausts etc, then yes you can probably halve that price...

i would also say a set of diff gears, at least 3.45 LSD to make good use of the power

i would recomend you look at a CMS cam, 1st,2nd,3rd at the last dyno day, 174 (fordfreak), 162(me!), 153 (greenmachine), and the 1/4 mile times speak for themselves...
