your going to have to both increase the capacity of the motor by making the bore larger and fitting larger diameter pistons, and also make it rev harder, since kw is a byproduct of torque multiplied by rpm. a lot of work involved in doing it right. remember that an increase in rpm limit facilitates driveline work unless you have a manual gearbox and an alloy XR shaft fitted to cope. keep running it on mocks dyno will give you and extra 20 at the bags.

at the wheels?
Whats it making now?
I'd turf the dev4 cam and go dev5, I've never heard of nor seen a car with a dev4 going that great compared to smaller cams.

if its 200kw at the engine, it wouldn't take much really. Probly about 145-150rwkw is 200kw at the engine. Give Jim or Brendon a call and they will be able to tell you what needs to be done to get 200rwkw out of your car. A little while ago i sore jim mocks EB NA6 race on tv and it was overtaking a VY series 2 SS on the straights, so im guessing thats making quite alot of power.

i think hyena had a 4.2 with full out head port and valves, a massive cam and upped springs, high pressure fuel system, high comp pistons and after market ecu. iirc he was at like 180ish rwkw or something

From memory ebturb now bfturb on here did 168rwkw (dynomotive dyno, on an FM dyno day) with a rebuilt stock bottom end, EL ticky head with mild port work, JMM springs and a Dev5. Stock BBM manifold, stock TB, and EL XR6 ECU, through a T5 with XR6 clutch. EL XR 3.45 diff.
Went 14.2@98mph in an EB1 with stereo gear on street tyres?
Not exactly massive money there, and it was nice to drive and a weapon on the street.
Alot more money for that extra 10-20rwkw, and where does it get you?

good point, about all i can think there is bragging rights.

if you were going to push it, you would need to make it a lot less undersquare. just to shape the natural curve up towards the top where max HP can be made in NA form.

mock claims he can do a "200rwkw+" custom job but its big money. it can be done but as jared points out, theres not a lot of point going for that much.

also id like to see the vehicle pull 170rwkw on a proper dyno, not mocks. dev 4's were according to mock 160 rkw, and thats on his dyno.

i actuly made 174.7rwkw not to far off steady and 98mph on the strip could make more with bit more head work and higher comp

Whats to down low with the dyno stuff? They have different readings? A few ppl seem to say mocks is no good?

A link to thread or quick explanation would be great.

Im also looking for 200kw at the flywheel. Im after a cam for my EL hybrid with JMM DEV 2 kit. Need some suggestions Wade, mock, crow...?

Regards,

Michael.

Im also looking for 200kw at the flywheel because thats how far i can go on P plate restrictions, how much work you think will be needed to get there from an EL hybrid with JMM DEV 2 kit so im open for Cam suggestions??? Wade, mock, crow

Dynos read differently, between different days, different operators, different locations, different modes and especially different brands.
The JMM dyno is/was very old, not many other people run one that old.
Hence with dyno dynamics being the most popular, and reading lower then Mocks dyno, Mocks dyno becomes 'wrong'.
Use them for tuning and comparing mods on YOUR car, same dyno same operator same place.
Dyno days are the best for comparing numbers, it's the only way to get reasonably comparable results with other people IMO.
In the end, the drag strip never lies :)

so did you have your motor out for this or are you just doing calculations cause no car will get the same % drive train losses
