That would be very interesting to watch, I think someone might have been playing a certain game a little too much on PS2!

I can tell you this much, when your pulling away from a ricer who wanted to race you, and they see the trailer you have behind you, the look on their face is just PriceLess!!!!

Anyway, back On Topic. I think the 6 will just edge out over the line, but yes it will be a very good drag to watch.

Cheers

The 8 hopefully will get it, Maybe by a whisker. 400m is a very long track for near standard cars, the 6 wont have too much until the bbm opens up.

The V8 will be quick off the mark but will be athsmatic at 3500 and kick in again at higherish revs...

I would like to see what the outcome would be, A 15.3 roughly for the 8, maybe 15.4 for the 6 (only because of auto).

Go the tickford 6. Ive had a few goes with the eights and there was hardly anything in it except mine wasnt as loud. It will come down to driver skill and tyres. The ghia does weigh it down a bit tho. Good luck i want the six too win!! Hurry up and race already i hate suspense!!

more info needed.
how are the tire tread on both cars???
what size are the rims and how wide are the tires???
how many km's on both cars???
how clean is the filter in each???
what fuel do they usually run???
how long since the last service???
what conditions are the trannys in???
my dads el falcon classic(265,000km) eats my uncles el falcon gli(120,000km) by at least a car length and keeps pulling away. the difference being uncles car is serviced every 25,000km if that and my dads every 5000 him being a mechanic.
way too many variables to consider.
in conclusion if both cars are in same nick i think it will be very close. the v8 has similar power but more torque but the i6 also makes torque quicker then the 8. id say the i6 would be ahead during the first 300m. but the 8's torque will make the difference and put it a nose in front when the auto hits 3rd.

ill say the six by a whisker, mostly due to slightly lower weight. the V8 will have better top end power so it could go any way.... if your good, and I mean good, you may win in the v8.

In the 99.999% of the driving you will be doing I think the I6 has a significant performance edge.

Speaking of performance edges I drove a low K 6 speed manual LS1 crewman ute last week. What a gutless pile of garbage, extremely dissapointed. I thought it was the 3.6L V6 at first and thought it was gutless for a V6. You have to rev the tits off it to get any performance.

Yea my dad has the VE SS and before that he had the xr6 turbo, he said the VE SS has to be really revved to get any where and if you put ya foot down it needs to drop back a few gears to get any power. With the xr6t he said the power was awesome no matter what gear.

all the 6 owners will say the six will win.

also no ford 6 cyl, mod for mod will get anywhere near a ls1.

the cars are virtually identical except the 8 has an ever so slight power advantage. it also has an ever so slight weight disadvantage. either way its not going to be a walk over.
