I think the AU has different size main bearing journals to a 250 crank.

isnt a common mod to put an au..or is it e series crank in the 250?

yeah E series crank and rods into 250 block, even that isn't a straight fit.



but 250 crank into an AU. WTF

im so understanding this and im the one that started the topic i just went thought everything agine and i get it im thinking you the 4.1 crank and over sized pistons in an AU eninge to strock it to a 4.2 lt

the stroke is the same.

i'm being nice here, FORGET about stroking a ford 4L engine. it's not going to happen. the best you can hope for is CMS to start selling the Big Bore engines.

with the biggest over size piston you can get for these engines, the most you are going to get is 4.050L (1mm oversized piston)

You might get a 250 crossflow piston to fit and get the 4.1L but the cylinder walls will be paper thin and you'll have trouble finding a headgasket to fit.
