Hi, I have an ed with starting issues. I pulled the fuel pump out after experiencing low power and surging when accelerating at high speeds with full throttle, also hard to start (about 4 attempts in the morning or after leaving it for a couple of hours), suspecting a dirty strainer on fuel pump, also checked fuel filter all seemed ok. When I attempted a start no go, it turned over but no luck. I checked the coil for spark, leads etc, but couldnt find a problem, also disconnected fuel line at injector rail and turned the engine seeing fuel coming out like a slow running tap. I've had holdens in the past an noticed there was no pressure in the fuel line when I disconnected it, not sure if thats normal? Also pulled a spark plug out and noticed it dry with no presence of fuel. Could it be the fuel pump?? Please help.

No fuel on the plugs means injectors going by everything else you have said. May be computer related.

There should be pressure in the fuel rail when you disconnect a fuel line. Check & replace the fuel filter that is down on the chassis rail, passenger side, just forward of the lower control arm for the diff. Then I'd suggest doing a fault code scan on the car, see what it turns up if it still won't run.

Cheers

Didn't mix up the fuel lines at the pump?

My mate had this problem with a newer model, he rolled it and had to reset the ecu, just go over the basics I guess check the fuel and spark and go from there
