Precision are a higher quality than acl, its the acl pistons that arent real flash.
I got a price on a full precision rebuid kit for a 302 windsor and it was 750 retail price, call here in perth and get it sent to you, probably be cheaper.
Surely they have flat top pistons for a 4.0 in a kit for less than 1000.
I could have got an acl race kit almost free but my engine machinist told me not to bother and hold out for the precision kit.(just my engine builders opinion not mine)

I had a JMM kit and here is my dyno sheet.

If i can remember I was instructed to shave 30 thou but no more. Once tuned I could only ever use BP ultimate (s/e qld its the best fuel)

I had a 1/4 of 14.2 but had more in it, never took it back before I sold it but should of cracked into the 13 bracket.

Jmm dont cost that much considering the results, but there are good and bad stories that goes with everything.

alright after a bit more dicussion today and considering you guys input ive decided on decking the block to 0 piston hieght au head gasket and 10 thou off the head

anyone elses advice still welcome

thats not a good idea in the slightest.

zero deck with an AU gasket will only give you 18-22thou piston to head clearnce. THAT IS NOT ENOUGH. you want at least 30thou, even that is a little close.

If you are using and AU gasket you'll want at least 10thou deck hight

I think it was a dev 3 or some sort? It was ages ago and now have different dev packages. And for the above proof I will buy from them again.
