hi performance coatings !
i have just come across an article re; high temp coatings for my 4480 headers.
i can get any of up to 3 choices ! the first choice is your standard
1. ceramic coating wich gives a greyish blue coulour !
2. ceramichrome wich gives a stunning chrome/ billet look to it!
3. a high performance coating wich is black in colour!
but gives off less under bonnet heat than the first two options.
has anyone used the ceramchrome product before and is it a long lasting chrome finish or will it just look s**t' after a few months. i think something under the bonnet with some chrome on it
wouldn't look to bad. :)
cramichrome factory is only a 25 min drive from my house so it sounds a better option.

Hey mate, i have the 4480's in CermaKrome, it made the engine bay temp drop heaps and actually made the exhaust quieter. The chrome will start to dell down but it still looks shiny. Also it cost me another $300 to get done.

Have a look at the temp differences, it also can give you a bit more power because of the temp

the muffler shop quoted me $ 330 for ceramic coating ! so if its about the same price for ceramichrome i think i will do that ! i looks a much prettier option.

Is the paint on the pacemakers worth having? Does anyone know if it does anything to help with heat or is it purely cosmetic?

If you are talking about the blue coating that comes with the extractors, it dosn't help that much for heat but the cermakrome helps alot but you pay for it.

Yeah no worries. Sounds like a good thing to do. Something I would consider doing if my car wasnt a daily.

i know this does not help anyone outside sydney but here are the details for the company who
do high performance coatings in sydney.
the details are www.competitioncoatings.com !
if my internet wasn't maxed out i would check this site out myself ! out of the coatings mentioned earlier in this thread " the ceramakrome looks stunning .
and the thermal barrier grey and black seems to be an even better option than the ceramakrome.
can someone give me an honest ball park figure on the ceramakrome $. :)

I got my Pacemaker 4480's HPC Coated with the Chrome Look - they looked AWESOME as seen in the pic below BUT if your car is un-tuned which means the exhaust is running at a higher temp then the chrome look fades - they still look good but not chrome - they dont tell you this when you buy them or have them coated

Here they are fitted - Dirty Engine at the time

Here is what they look like now - Bling Engine :)
