i am thinking of swapping the 3.9 over for a 4l from an eb or ed.

what would be the main advantage of this other than the extra bit of power?

plus does anyone have one available and can swap them if needed.prefer with ecu.you can sell the 3.9 to pay for the swap, after the 4l is all working...i don't have the room or the equipment to do it.

looking for one with less than 200 000 k's and no leaks anywhere..

i live in morthern nsw 20 mins from the nsw/qld border

thanks

ps would it run ok with the 3.9 ecu.

naughty...

all i got is the ef cam in it,not interested in the other stuff,,the mrs drives it as well,,was only thinking of the swap as it would more than likely be cheaper than fixing the 3.9.

a 40thou oversize on a 3.9 makes it a 4.016lt its that easy keep our engine and bore it .. I do have a std 4.0 EB2 ecu but there is a difference in some wiring in the engine bay

that a good idea but defeats the purpose of keeping costs down as that would involve pulling the motor down,,,i don't have 2 grand..

it will cost the same to fix the probs with the 3.9 as it will to change over,,plus i'm getting a few other bits done while it's there.
