howdy,
recently my car has decided to start leaking coolant, i have had a look at it appears that the hoses are fine, and that the leak is coming from directly under the radiator.
Just curious as to what i should do. Is it worth reconditioning the current radiator, or should i just buy a new one. Ford want $400 compared to the repco $220 (brand new radiators).
Also Has anybody had any experience with the ebay radiators? They are about $130-$150, but i am unsure of their quality.

Hey

I'm using a radiator in the EF from GMAN the RADMAN on ebay. It's a quality unit - couldnt pick the difference from the one that i removed (apart form the fact that the one i removed was cracked :))

When i ordered about 12 months ago, yes. I imagine still supplying the same brand.

Couldnt tell you to be honest. Something like a radiator is gonna be a pain in the a** to claim under warranty anyways.

Copped 300hp of supercharged goodness (heat+) for an entire summer without problem. I'm super-happy with it.

Make sure its not leaking from the drain plug on the left looking from the front.

when looking down between the themos and motor, i can see a drip on the plastic air diffuser underneath on both the battery side and the intake side of the car. However on the ground there is a large stain on the airbox side of the radiator.
i am assuming that there is a crack in the end tank, or something similar. I figure its time to replace the radiatior anyway, havent done it since i bought the car 3 years ago
I will check the drain plug though,
cheers

End tank is usually what lets go, as a result of the plastic (good choice of materials hey?) deteriorating and blocked passages causing excessive pressure to build up in certain parts of the side tanks.
