I drive a 2000 au forte, firstly i'm wondering how i could get some power gains out of it for around $5000. And secondly i'm a bit worried about the engine, it's revs seem to be all over the place and this morning i was going up a hill(not very steep) and i couldnt get anything out of the engine it stuck to 100 and wouldnt accelerate. Is this an issue or is it normal?

you could start off by getting a full exhaust system which can cost about $1200 for a decent one, get an AU XR8 snorkel and a k&n panel filter for bout $120 all up to help it breathe a little better. Then if u wanna go further u could talk to Joe at CMS, he has some great cam packages available

hope that helps

welcome to FM mate. Before you do any mods, you need to address the engine problems you have first. It isn't normal to not be able to accelerate past 100. When was the car last serviced. I think it might be wise to change the leads and plugs to fix what seems like misfire issues.

Your car should be able to do 100 up any hill in reverse...
Ok maybe not but you get the point - you have a problem. Sounds like a misfire, try the plugs and leads and if that fails check the coil pack, air filter, fuel filter etc.

could be a transmission problem of some sort if its not picking the correct gear for going up a hill etc. might be worth getting that checked out.

even in 4th gear, at 100km, it should accelerate no problem.
