gday all in the last month or so the car has done this thing twice when i open the car via the keypad the locks cycle 6 or 7 times then it locks itself again then i can reopen it via the keypad and all is normal.

has anyone had issues like this befor?
whats the best way to fix it?

i rang and spoke with a ford technition and they advised that a door lock motor (part that makes the little knob go up and down) could be on the way out, dose this sound like a cause.

cheers

sounds like a lazy actuator..

if one of the front actuators is to slow, when the first actuator unlocks it senses that the other is not up, its now thinking the button has been pushed back down so it tries to lock it again..

so it will keep cycling untill the slow one catches up..

they all seem to work at the same speed, i should of mentioned that once it has done this it only does it once when it does it and then it might do it again in a few weeks time.

sorry for my stupidity but smart lock gives me headachs

wouldn`t a lazy actuator do this every time i open the car.

My EF used to do it when it was hot.
I sprayed silicone spray on all the moving that I could with the door trim off and had no more problems.
Dirty/sticky door buttons can cause this also.

Mine will sometimes lock itself and does not have smartlock. It happens when the locks get out of sync.
Also if you push one of the snipper buttons on to tight can cause this because it bottoms out before the one on the other side.
