Ok SHOPPING LIST!!

2.5" system (my quote: 400 dollars fitted)
Extractors (180 brand new)
New grille (many comments on that LOL)
Air pod (60 dollars)

In Brisbane where do I go for a decent deal on the exaust and extractors, and is it worth putting the pod on the au?

-say no to speed limiters, 180k on an au is not enough

No it is not worth putting a pod on, just get a new panel if yours is dirty.

As for exhaust just shop around for the cheapest price. If you aren't getting any custom work done then there won't be much difference between where you go in terms of quality, all they have to do is weld your cat flanges right.

Please don't remove the speed limiter, you don't need to.

$180 seems awfully cheap for brand new headers??

Grab a second hand set of Pacie 4480's from the for sale section here. They pop up often enough.

Do me a favour and make sure you wrap yourself around a pole on the north side of the border.

See how long your tail shaft lasts without the speed limiter.

Theres a lot more to just doing simple budget mods for track days. Look at your suspension first before you go running a family car around a race track.

My boss has just built an ED XR8 track car, spent about $5000 on it (you might not need to spend this much); Roll cage, 800 pound Springs all round and upgraded Pedders shocks, nolathane bushes all through, sway bars, Greenstuff brake pads, plus more. I'm not trying to brag or anything, but don't risk your life or the other peoples lives with your budget track car. Sure it might go alright for a the first few track meets, but the car was not built for the purpose of racing.

Aim for a nice comfortable street car, and you'll have a lot more fun.

Cheers
Josh

PS Not trying to have a stab, just trying to be realistic, racing isn't cheap, and your starting it off cheap.
