make sure the sender unit is earthed to the block, if you have used thread tape on it, try clamping a wire around the sender then to a good earth as a test

be careful with the plasma series, i had three installed and the brightness was too much at night, felt like lasers burning my eyeballs, and you cant dim them. Also unless the gauge is pointing dead square to your vision you cant see some of the led indicators. The plasma senders i found work basically opposite to most other senders so maybe the one you had didnt suit the gauge you were having trouble with. But they do look pretty flash when you start the engine and they do there thing. Good luck.

the one i had trouble with i was using its sensor....and i have a plan if there to bright, a light coat on the lens of tail light tint...should do the trick.
drove in the dark this morning with the gauge sitting in the spot where the holder goes and wasnt an issue, but once angled up might change....ill post up how it goes

Your best bet .... speak to Stav from Stingray. He's around the Merrylands area and comes to you.
He installs gauges all of the time ... and will know the issue by looking at it straight away.

I had the same gauge pod in my AU ... and used basic Autometer oil pressure and Volt meter gauges ... and had my auto electrician fit them ... worked first go and never had an issue.

Image

I on-sold my gauge pod ... and will eventually be re-fitting them back into my BFII ute ... in the tripod gauge ... when funds permit. I'll be getting Stav to refit my gauges. This time though I'll be using a Speco sandwich plate to mount my oil pressure and temp senders ... much neater and easier .... uses the oil filter mount.

im in vic so stav may be a tad expensive, there all wired up right, i have the oil pressure working properly....only need to get the temp working while the car is running, it reads if i shut the motor off then put it on acc. thats what has me stumped iv wired the 12v from the same spot but only the temp gauge does it.

im pretty sure the problem lies in the dash wiring, so what im going to do is run a wire from the battery to a relay and relay to the gauges. hook the relay to the acc, so when i turn the car on ill have a direct line from the battery to the gauge, fused of course. should elimitate my issues i hope.
