its an electric drift brand gauge, iv have all the wires hooked up, it has 7 different colours and when i only hooked it up to the light circuit only 4 colours worked and when it got full 12v all the colours work so i know i have power to it.

only thing that i can think it could be iv ran the wire to the sensor but using a sensor i have off a vct head i have in the shed so not using there sensor as its too bulky.

i can weld up the holes for the oil line on the vct sender extension and use the sensor that came with the kit.

thats about all i can think of
cheers

lol

You need to use the sender they provided. There is a fair chance both sensors are completely different.

i think i have a dud gauge, there is a voltage from the sender to an earth but no reading on the gauge so i might go buy a new gauge a better quality one tomorrow.

how have you got it connected?????
there shoulnt be any voltage from the sender, it works on resistance..
if the sender has 2 wires 1 goes to engine earth and the other goes to the gauge signal wire..

it has 5 wires.

12v - orange
Acc - red
earth - black
light - white
sender - green

like discribed before with only lights hooked up only 4 colours worked but with 12v all work well i can get all the colours so i know i have power to it, ran the wire from the sender to the green wire and also earthed the sender aso should be working.
dont know what else to do with it.
